Embracing Change and Growth at Every Stage. We are often faced with challenges that test our strength, our resolve, and our sense of self-worth. For me, this journey of personal evolution began with breaking my own heart, confronting my self-sabotage, and learning to love myself unconditionally.
For years, I struggled with depression, hiding behind my extroverted personality, and avoiding my own shadow. It wasn't until I found myself at my lowest point in 2023, after a tumultuous year starting in 2022, that I realized I had been running from myself. I had been ignoring the remarks, judgments, and critiques of others, fearing that they were true reflections of my own beliefs about myself.
This journey into the abyss forced me to listen for what God, my higher self, wanted me to hear. It drowned out all the noise and left me unable to move, but in that stillness, I found clarity. I realized that the root of my pain and suffering was my own self-judgment and fear of the judgments of others.
Through 15 years of personal development, coaching, classes, medicinal plant medicine, psychedelics and life experience (there was still that thing called integration), I began to unravel the layers of self-doubt and self-criticism that had held me back for so long. I started to see that my greatest teachers were the most hurtful experiences, and that reframing these experiences could lead to profound transformation.
I began writing this article two years ago, on my 44th birthday, and now, on my 46th solar return, I can confidently say that I have mastered myself. I have learned that personal evolution is not just about personal development and growth, but about empowered, healed evolution of the self.
Throughout my career in PR and media, I have reinvented myself many times, but this transformation has been the rise of a phoenix. It has been a slow burn and a gradual rise, as I learn to be patient, kind, and forgiving with myself. I have learned to speak to my inner woman and nurture my inner child, understanding that self-love is the key to breaking the cycle of self-sabotage.
Today, I stand on a great stage, fully expressive in every essence of the word, sharing my story and empowering others to embrace change without fear. I have learned that learning to love myself has changed everything around me, and I am committed to continuing this journey of empowered, ageless evolution.
In the midst of my transformation, Veronica Webb emerged as my alter ego, embodying all the things I always wanted to do but thought was too late. She is an artist who expresses herself through dance, poetry, photography, self-care, embodied femininity, and boutique living. Through Veronica, I tap into a creative wellspring that had long been dormant, allowing me to explore new passions and talents.
Through Veronica, I have learned to embrace change as she is a reminder that it is never too late to reinvent yourself and pursue your dreams. She has taught me that age is just a number, and that true fulfillment comes from living authentically and passionately. This is a reminder of the power of self-love and the beauty of embracing change.
